Welcome to all Rick Steves readers in Venice

On Rick Steves guide book I have 3 tours.

1) The  bar tour :
a short walk with three stops in three bacari (typical Venetian bars) where we will drink "ombre" (glasses of wine).
In order to appreciate the wine (or better to have a good excuse to drink) in Venice we use to eat a "cicchetto" (little tapas-like morsels).
We will pretend to be locals with the combination of " ombre" " cicchetti" and a chat like Venetians use to do before dinner (or instead of). Just one stop is considered an aperitif, but three stops is the best way to eat a light dinner in a progressive pub crawl on top of meeting friends and chatting with people.
Normally the talk is about the life in Venice today, but I will try to answer to all your questions.
Venice is visited by over 20 million tourists every year, you'll find them everywhere, but I will do my best to give you the original atmosphere and experience.

WHEN 18:00 (6pm) daily, at request, with the minimum of 8 people to operate.

Price 35 euro per person (wine and food included)

2) The "offbeat ":
Rick Steves tour (euro 20/person) starts before the "bar tour". Not being a licensed city guide (and therefore unable to take you into sights), I will take you off of the beaten path where we will find many corners and spots for beautiful photos and I will try to answer to all your questions.

WHEN 16:30 (4:30pm) daily, at request, with the minimum of 8 people to operate.

Price 20 euro per person

To be more precise:
Who prefers just the bar tour pays 35 euro per person.
Who prefers just the "offbeat" pays 20 euro per person.
Who prefers to know a little more about Venice comes for both tours and pays 20 + 35 = 55 euro per person.
The "offbeat" tour is very easy, we walk very slowly and we will stop several times.
The "bar tour" is a very short walk and we will try to seat at least on the first two bars.
BOOKING POLICY I don't ask any money in advance or credit card but, If you are interested, please send me the name and the tel number (because in Venice many hotels have similar if not the same name) of your hotel in Venice, plus the day of your arrival and under which name you have booked your hotel in Venice, just in case I have to leave a message on the day of your arrival (like changing of the meeting point cause by the high water or...)

3) B U R A N O tour

If you are interested in:

30-35 minutes lagoon tour in a private speed taxi boat (maximum 8-10 people with the chance to stay inside, in case of rain).

Visit a 3 floors best lace shop in Burano.

Maps and information about Burano, Murano, Torcello and where to go to eat in Burano or Murano.

10:00am Meeting point : 50 yards north of the Rialto Bridge under the big clock on Campo San Giacomo.

Once down Rialto bridge, opposite side of San Mark, walk ahead for 50 yards in “Ruga degli Oresi” and on your right you’ll find Campo San Giacomo easy to recognize from the big clock and the nice fountain in the center. Be careful, don’t trust your GPS, you have two San Giacomo in Venice, San Giacomo dell’Orio and San Giacomo di Rialto. You need San Giacomo di Rialto, 50 yards down Rialto bridge.

With a private taxi we will go in approximately 30-35 minutes from Rialto to BURANO.

Instead of a long journey with public transport (more than one hour in a busy vaporetto with two changing from Rialto) enjoy a splendid and informative fun boat ride in a very comfortable and elegant motor-launch, limited to a maximum of 10 participants in order to guarantee that everyone could stands outside for the photo opportunities or stay inside in case of rain.

Starting at Rialto, going through part of the northeast side of the city, passing along the San Michele cemetery, Murano, the island of San Giacomo in Palude, arriving at Burano via the Canale di Mazzorbo.

At Burano, after a little offbeat orientation tour of this splendid fisherman island, while sipping a glass of prosecco ( with Buranelli ) in a beautiful Martina shop garden, I will give you maps and information:

Around 11:30 demonstration of the lace in the Martina shop ( see Martina Vidal Burano ) with the chance to see an old lady doing the lace like centuries ago, (unfortunately an old lady because the young don’t want to work so hard any more).

I will remain at your disposition for any information inside the shop until you’ll leave

Once you will leave the shop ( usually around 12.30 ) you’ll be on your own.

WHEN 10:00am, daily, at request, with the minimum of 4 people to operate.
Length of this tour: around 4 hours ( 10:00am  to  02:00pm )
Price: 50 euro per person.
If you are very interested in the tour I can confirm the tour even if you are just 2 but, if you remain the only 2 I have to add the minimum of 60 euro for the private taxi just for you.
50+50+60=1600 euro instead of 50+50=100

Hoping to see you soon in Venice.
Ciao e grazie
